31 lifts lead up to Plan de Corones, one of the most renowned skiing areas in South Tyrol, with 116 km of skiing slopes. With its variegated runs and modern ski lifts, Plan de Corones is today one of the most popular and modern ski areas in Europe.

Val Pusteria Valley offers Nordic skiing enthusiasts hundreds of kilometres of cross-country trails, including the internationally renowned cross-country skiing and biathlon centre in Anterselva/Antholz. With 30 km of trails, the Anterselva Valley is a real paradise for cross-country skiers, both amateurs and experts. It is the venue of national and international competitions such as the biathlon world cup, and yet it's also suitable for beginners and those returning to this sport after a long break.

In winter, Valdaora offers excellent natural sledge runs. A popular highlight is moonlight sledging. Numerous winter hiking trails lead through the snowy landscape, suitable for going up to the secluded mountain huts and shelters, inviting hikers and snowshoe hikers to take a short break.

Also, the ski areas in Upper Val Pusteria/Pustertal Valley such as Helm and Corda Rossa/Rotwand in Sesto/Sexten are great for all skiing levels.

The 7 km sled run from the Brunstalm hut to Valdaora di Sopra/Oberolang, will cater to your needs and there are also other sled runs as well in the vicinity of Plan de Corones. These range from single runs in nature to busy sports circuits with plenty of bends. You can rent out all types of sleds from Rent & go! Our suggestion: sledding in the moonlight!

Families and children in winter

The children’s program in the Plan de Corones - The kids will simply love it! As a matter of fact, there is much fun and adventure in store at Valdaora/Olang and at the Hotel Post for kids and parents alike!

Sledding is very popular in South Tyrol and in these parts it enjoys a long tradition. There’s the panoramic cableway, which takes passengers high above the Funberg and then back down again. Meanwhile, the kids are letting themselves go in the snow park. Even a carriage ride through the winter landscape makes for an unforgettable experience.

In the snow kindergartens and children’s ski schools in Plan de Corones, budding young skiers have fun learning the rudiments of skiing, under the guidance of ski instructors even during lunchtime. The Cima Kids Park, a multi-game centre with wigwams for children, is located right on the sunny plateau of Plan de Corones and the "Cima-Express" snow train takes the kids straight to the ski school and back.
